What is a spend cap?
A spend cap is a limit placed on your account to protect you from unexpected charges. Once you reach the cap, any additional chargeable services outside your plan will stop until the next billing period or until the cap is increased.
How spend caps work
A spend cap helps prevent unexpected costs by limiting how much you can spend on services outside your normal monthly allowance.
These charges can include:
- Calls outside your allowance
- Premium rate numbers
- International calls
- Roaming charges
- Data used after your allowance has been reached
Once your spending reaches the cap, additional chargeable usage will be blocked.
What happens when you reach your spend cap?
If your spend cap is reached:
- Any additional chargeable services will stop working
- Your included allowance will continue to work as normal
- Services will reset at the start of your next billing cycle
