How do I plug my phone into my router?
Why your phone connects to the router
All Onestream phone services now use Digital Voice, which means your calls are made through your broadband connection rather than the traditional phone network.
This change is happening across the UK as the traditional landline network is being switched off.
Because of this, your home phone now needs to connect to your router instead of the wall phone socket.
How to connect your phone
Follow these steps to connect your handset:
• Locate the RJ11 phone cable that came with your phone
• Plug one end of the cable into your home phone handset base
• Plug the other end into the port labelled 'Phone' on the back of your router
Once connected, your phone should be ready to make and receive calls.
What if the cable does not fit?
Some phones use a slightly different connector type.
If the cable does not fit directly into the router, you may need to use the Digital Voice adaptor included with your router.
