Why is my Wi-Fi slow?
Wi-Fi speeds can be affected by a number of factors within your home. If your Wi-Fi is slower than expected, there are a few simple checks you can carry out to help improve performance.
Things to try first
- Reboot your router – your router is like a small computer and may need restarting occasionally.
- Try another device – if only one device is affected, the issue may not be your Wi-Fi.
- Move your router – positioning can impact performance. Thick walls and metal objects can block signal.
- Keep your router away from other electrical devices – this helps reduce interference.
- Disconnect unused devices – too many connected devices can slow your connection.
